Christmas 2008
Merry Christmas Everyone,
It is that yearly Christmas time
And I’ve been inspired to write in rhyme
All the happenings of the year
In metered verse, so prepare your ears.
2008 was both loss and gain
For I am pregnant yet again.
We are now in big month seven
Quoc thinks round bellies are a slice of heaven
February 18th the planned arrival
So we have got a little while
To imagine life in parenthood
We are green it’s understood
We do not know if pink or blue
And will not know until it’s due.
We have had many who foretell
Based on things like height of my swell
But mom and dad think it’s a lark
To keep that knowledge in the dark
We love to coo and giggle
At “it” baby when it wiggles
But other things have been going on
Quoc still works at Amazon
He has headed some projects large
And it has added stress to be in charge
He dreams of no commute or pager
And other companies have offered wagers
To pull up roots and replant
But the benefits he needs they can not grant
So he continues at working hard
With laptop and network card
And when he has a moment free
He plays guitar and sings for me
And though it make’s my husband sigh
I keep on teaching Jr. high
This years students, a group that’s great
Leaving them mid-year I hate
But I have co-workers extraordinaire
To watch and guide when I’m not there
And if pregnancy was not enough
I’m taking on a task quite tough
My teaching creds need renewal
So I have got to work and gruel
On this task called national boards
It helps teachers gain rewards
I’ve prepped and planned to start well
Halfway done and doing swell
A passing score I think I’ll make
Just in time to take my break
No travel did this family do
But we did make a kitchen new
A few more pieces to complete
And our work has been quite neat
Our cat Miara is still here
Napping and purring her career
Her owners jealous of her toil
But kitties you’re suppose to spoil
That’s the news of this past year
We wish you merry x-mas cheer
And if with my silly rhymes
I’ve taken and wasted time
I ask that you read this quote
From the Bard, it’s a pleasant note…
“If we shadows have offended,
Think but this and all is mended:
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend.
If you pardon, we will mend..."
Puck- Midsummer Nights Dream
Merry Christmas and Happy New year
Love
Jessica & Quoc
